The 600 m² project includes demolition of the existing building and reconstruction with steel columns, beams and roofing. Assess this reference within its stated structural scope.
A construction approach using steel members for the load-bearing structure.
Structural steel is a load-bearing system that can be considered for factories and warehouses. It is not a building type or, by itself, a turnkey scope. Functional requirements and engineering design form the basis of system selection.
Spans, height, imposed loads, ground conditions and other building requirements are assessed together. Sections, connections and details are determined through design work by qualified engineers.
Foundation and anchor details, fabrication and erection of steel members are planned in coordination with roofing and facade works. Design, procurement, fabrication and erection responsibilities are clarified at the outset.
Structural steel describes how a building is constructed. Turnkey delivery describes how completely it is finished, including building services and finishes. Both decisions can be made together for the same building.
Each project should explain whether steel is used throughout the building or in specific parts, and which works were undertaken.

Reinforced concrete and steel were used together in the 2,261 m² workshop project. The hybrid building’s turnkey scope is explained on its project page.

I’d like to share my project ↗Let’s assess the intended use, plot conditions and available documents.
Let’s clarify the work to be undertaken and each party’s responsibilities.
Let’s discuss a quotation and programme based on the agreed requirements.
Foundations and anchors, fabrication and erection of steel members, connections, specified protective treatments, roofing, facade and building services should be listed separately. It must be clear whether the quotation covers only the frame or the completed building.
The existing building and documentation, new functional requirements and connection conditions are assessed first. Extra storeys, openings or changes in loads cannot be decided from photographs alone; they require appropriate engineering assessment and design.
There is no single answer for every project. Spans, loads, site conditions, fabrication and procurement plans and delivery scope must be compared together. Hybrid systems in our references also show how different parts of one project can require different decisions.
Building type, structural system and delivery scope are three separate, complementary decisions.
